Blacktail Lake

Blacktail Lake is a popular recreational lake located near the town of Conrad, Montana. It is situated on the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountain Front and is part of an extensive network of lakes and reservoirs that are fed by the streams and rivers flowing out of the mountains. The lake covers an area of approximately 197 acres and has a maximum depth of 40 feet. It is a popular destination for boating, fishing, swimming, and other water-based activities. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish, including rainbow trout, brown trout, and yellow perch. There are several campgrounds located around the lake, including Blacktail Creek Campground and Black Sandy State Park. The surrounding area is also popular for hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing, with numerous trails and wildlife viewing areas located within a short driving distance from the lake.
